Encourage, Empower, Embrace

People are diverse. Using individualized therapy techniques encourages growth and healing. I desire to see mental health therapy normalized by empowering people to share their story, understand themselves and others around them. Embracing therapy and story telling can provide stability and maintenance through everyday struggles.

About

Share. Your. Story.

In 2004 I decided to be more than my circumstances, which started my journey to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I began college as a non-traditional college student - meaning older and with kids - I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of North Dakota. While attending college, I worked with persons with developmental disabilities, which encouraged my creative side and broadened my understanding of communication. Since graduating, our family has moved 8 times across 5 states with a total of 4,400 miles between them all. I mention these moves because I started and finished my Master’s during this time. Settling in Ashland, Wisconsin, I completed my internship through Northland Counseling and graduated with my Master’s in Licensed Professional Counseling, from Liberty University, in 2015. During my internship I co-facilitated Dialectical Behavioral Therapy groups; provided individual, couple and family therapy; worked with a criminal justice grant to creatively work with women in the justice system, using Equine Therapy, Seeking Safety Program and Art Therapy. After graduating, I worked with the Comprehensive Community Supports Program in Ashland, Bayfield, and Price counties providing therapy to people and families who are affected by severe and persistent mental illness. In 2019, I became a fully Licensed Professional Counselor and opened Strength to Aspire New Dreams, LLC. I have training in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fun Facts About Me Best Goal: To never be too old to do something different or new. Best Route to Joy: Having a Girls Night-in – telling past stories and laughing until my stomach burns and my cheeks start cramping. Best Flaw: When I make meals for groups of people visiting, I make way too much food! Best Accomplishment: Never giving up! Best Motto: Grow where you are planted. Give back to the community you live in. Explore the places God has you. Courage doesn't always ROAR. Sometimes courage is that quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow." ~ Mary Anne Radmacher
